Newly Elected Madison Cawthorn Caught in Religious Controversy, and It’s Ridiculous

by | Nov 17, 2020 | Remnant News | 0 comments

Sometimes you see something that immediately gives you the urge to apply your palm to your face. This is one of those instances.

Madison Cawthorn, who was just elected to Congress out of North Carolina and will become the youngest member of the House ever, is now mired in a religious controversy. Multiple “news” outlets are reporting that Cawthorn engaged in the dangerous, unheard of act of being a Christian who shares his faith.

Yes, you read that right. LINK HERE

Madison Cawthorn, the North Carolina Republican who will become the youngest member of Congress in history, has admitted he tried to convert Jews and Muslims to Christianity. In an interview with Jewish Insider, the 25-year-old, who came under fire for selfies he took at Hitler’s vacation retreat in Germany, claimed he had converted “several Muslims to Christ” and several “culturally Jewish people.” “If all you are is friends with other Christians, then how are you ever going to lead somebody to Christ?” Cawthorn said. “If you’re not wanting to lead somebody to Christ, then you’re probably not really a Christian.”

He admitted it, guys! All his evils are being revealed!

Of note, that “Hitler’s vacation retreat” is the Eagles Nest, a popular destination for people touring Europe, especially those who are doing tours centered on World War II history. That the media made a big deal of that was exceptionally idiotic and tone deaf. The Eagles Nest is not a shrine to Hitler. In fact, it’s kept up and open to the public for the opposite reason.

Regardless, I’m constantly stunned at how absolutely ignorant the media are of Christianity. I’m going to blow some minds here and reveal that evangelism of Jews to Christ was pretty much the beginning of the religion. Shocking stuff, I know. Further, Islam itself is a religion that tries to convert others, often at the end of a sword, so it’s a bit rich to pretend they are a protected group in this case that should never be exposed to Christianity.

Cawthorn’s comment was obviously just an innocent expression of his belief. People are allowed to share their faith in this country, and others are allowed to respond to that sharing as they see fit. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes tried to spin this as anti-Semitic because it supposedly erases Jews, a contention I find ludicrous. When a Jewish person is secular, they are still Jewish. Jesus was still Jewish. If a Jew becomes a Christian, they are still Jewish. In fact, one of the bedrocks of protecting the Jewish people has been to not draw false lines about who the “real” Jews are. But now it’s erasing Jewish people if they chose to follow Christ?

All of this is just ridiculous. To the extent that different sects of Christianity disagree on how to evangelize, there’s no doubt that conversion is at the center of the religion and its texts. Is that now out of bounds as well? Any other rules the media would like to get out there while we are having this discussion?

This kind of idiocy isn’t going away though. Wokeness and intersectionality breed this, and the left is only leaning into it harder.
