A tumultuous, turbulent, rollercoaster of a year is coming close to an end, and yet we are still far from being through this. There is however a light at the end of the tunnel.
Today we find ourselves in a unique situation as we desire to still hold to precious tradition and yet navigate through a new set of challenges, stringent local and state ordnance’s, a health care “crisis”, enemies in our coastal waters and many who’s small businesses have suffered in ways only unimaginable just a year ago.
People are hurting and in need of real hope.
Many churches remain closed. Those who are open can only fit so many, as parishioners seek to just find a church that will open their doors and offer an empty seat to sit in. Some are literally taking reservations. Who would ever imagine this is the world we would live in? Churches are spiritual hospitals. We need them.
Today, I will try and avoid pointing figures. I will also avoid “politics”, and I will simply speak from the heart as a human being.
We need to understand it isn’t “me vs you”. There are a small group of evil people, empowered by forces of darkness (our battle is not against flesh and blood-Ephesians 6:12) that are seeking to steal our freedom, our nation, our hope and our joy. We cannot allow them to do so. We must stand up and follow the lead of our brave ancestors.
This is serious. This is why we are fighting. God is going before us. He hears our many prayers.
Today I just wanted to remind you of a Savior. He is the answer to all of it. He is sitting on the throne of Glory. His name is Jesus, the Christ. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. In Him, we are victorious!
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His message is one of love and hope. Peace, joy and freedom.
He is enough.
He is enough to sustain us. He is enough to refill us. He is enough to strengthen us. He is enough to defeat our enemies.
We can win. We will win, because in Him, we have already won!
Spend this important time with your loved ones. Hug them. Cherish this time. Enjoy your fellowship. Don’t fight, don’t argue. It’s not worth it.
If you can, pray together. Pray for this nation. Pray for our president and government officials. Pray for peace. Pray for mercy. Pray for grace.
If America turns back to God, this will change everything. We can change the course of history. There is nothing more powerful then a praying people of God.
We are not defeated. We know how this ends. It’s a fixed fight. The devil is a liar. He knows where he will end up.
Make this a special Christmas. Appreciate life. Appreciate your loved ones. Remember where we get our hope. Our hope and identy is found in Christ.
In Christ, we have the victory!
Merry Christmas and may God bless you and your family!
You are loved. John 3:16
